New Bible Study

Are you disillusioned or depressed? Feel empty inside? Do you have broken relationships? Is your health suboptimal? Psalm 147 says God heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. I love that! I have been depressed, empty, lonely and sick. Not so much right now in my life but the memory is very real to me. I don’t want to go back there!

The gospel is so simple. . .

Are you a church goer but don’t get anything out of it? God has answers to that. When I think of what Christ wants me to be as described in Galatians: . . .the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. I think wow! I have a long way to go!

Although I have been a believer all my life I have not always made decisions that would reflect that. Through the better part of five years of illness and more than one time thinking “this is the end” I had so many regrets. Most of them about things in my control. My decisions. My actions (or inactions). My attitudes. Yet, I often didn’t see any other options though I knew they were out there. I know God can change lives. I want the “peace that passes all understanding”. I want to get into The Word.

Maybe your a longtime believer with a strong faith or perhaps this is the first time you’ve wanted to know more about God. Either way, if you’re looking for something deeper, richer, more real we invite you to join us on the journey as we dig into the Bible.

In September, we will be offering a Bible study on Tuesday evenings at 7 pm. A customer Valarie Eades will be leading it. She has been leading bible studies for some time so she is more qualified than I am. I invite you to join us.

We will be using the Inductive Marking Approach. It is a neat way to color up your Bible with easy to recongnize symbols and colors. For example, using a red heart over the sections for love or a triangle for references to God. It is a deep approach intended for you to become intimately familiar with the contents. It is messy as you end up marking up your Bible. There is even a special Bible (see below) made with extra large margins so you have space to write notes all over it. I figure the Bible is for using and it is better to be familiar with the contents than to have a pretty looking book you never use!

We will be using an easy 40 minute bible study to get started. It actually has all the passages in it so you don’t even need a bible to get started. We will need to order the books in advance so please if you know you want to come in September, let us know so we can order a book for you. Again we will be starting

We would love for you to join us.

I am excited to get started. As a matter of fact, I am so excited Valerie and I will be starting informally in August for those who don’t want to wait another minute. Call for details. By the way, if you don’t have a bible at all I probably have an old one around the house I could give you. I’d rather have you come than worry about anything.

Here is the link to the book I’m planning to mark up! It certainly isn’t required but I think I am a wordy person so            extra            writing         space           is a good idea for me.
